DESMOND Australia introduces new evaluation materials for 2016
The Diabetes WA evaluation team has worked closely with DESMOND Australia to review and re-design the DESMOND Australia evaluation.
Using questions from the Diabetes Empowerment Scale (DES) and the Problem Areas in Diabetes (PAID) scale, the evaluation measures if the DESMOND program has increased participants’ self-efficacy for diabetes self-management and decreased participants’ diabetes-related distress.
Questions relating to educator behaviour and suggestions for improvement continue to support program fidelity and quality assurance.
The new evaluation will commence in May 2016 and consists of pre, post and three month follow-up evaluations. DESMOND educators will soon receive an email from Diabetes WA Research and Evaluation Coordinator Jennifer Sweeting with the new Evaluation Toolbox and supporting documents. We hope you take the time to engage in this new evaluation and be a part of the evidence that DESMOND works.
